The biggest visit weekend of the early portion of the 2024 offseason for Texas football was Junior Day on Jan. 20. Texas hosted a few dozen blue-chip visiting recruits for the first big Junior Day of the offseason last weekend.

Among the big-time surprise visitors who made it to the 40 for Junior Day last weekend was the elite five-star 2025 Conroe (TX) cornerback Dorian Brew. The No. 2 cornerback in Texas in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite was one of the late additions to the Longhorns' visitor list for Junior Day on Jan. 20.

Brew was one of the highest-rated recruits in the 2025 class who visited Texas for Junior Day last weekend.

It was big for the Longhorns to get Brew to campus last weekend for a visit. Heading into the weekend, Brew was lightly scheduled for a Jan. 24 commitment date. He wound up pushing back his commitment date after the Texas visit.

Had Brew not pushed his decision date, the Ohio State Buckeyes were considered the heavy favorite to land his commitment. Brew is an Ohio State legacy who is originally from the Buckeye State before he moved to Texas last year.

Texas became a school worth watching in this recruitment when Brew moved to the Houston area in East Texas. The Longhorns definitely gave Brew something to think about during his Junior Day visit on Jan. 20.

Horns247 reported on Jan. 22 (paid content) that Texas "impressed" Brew during his visit last weekend. He reportedly spent much time with head coach Steve Sarkisian and safeties coach Blake Gideon during the Junior Day festivities.

It sounds like a return visit to Texas is very much in the cards for Brew after the successful visit to Austin over the weekend.
