Texas loses first 2026 commit, 4-Star RB Raycine Guillory
Per On3's Hayes Fawcett, four-star 2026 Aledo (TX) running back Raycine Guillory Jr. has decommitted from Texas football. Guillory was originally the first recruit to commit to Texas in the 2026 class back on Jan. 20, 2024.
4-Star 2026 RB Raycine Guillory Jr. decommits from Texas football
Guillory committed to Tashard Choice and the Longhorns amid his visit for the first big Junior Day of the offseason on the weekend of Jan. 20.
This comes after a weird sequence of events on social media concerning Guillory's recruitment this spring. Guillory pulled a tweet-and-delete sequence on May 30, where he said he would be dropping his top seven schools on social media.
It's obviously not a usual thing for a school to see one of their commit a top list of schools a few months after they originally pledged.
Guillory's decommitment leaves head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns with one pledge in the class of 2026 amid summer visits. The elite five-star Fort Lauderdale (FL) American Heritage quarterback Dia Bell committed to the Longhorns over the Florida State Seminoles, Penn State Nittany Lions, Ohio State Buckeyes, and LSU Tigers earlier this week.
Bell's commitment fits a larger trend where Sarkisian and the Longhorns staff add a highly touted quarterback recruit early in each cycle to build the rest of their class around.
The in-state running back talent in the class of 2026 is very pronounced. Choice already has his sights set on multiple top-ranked in-state running back targets in the 2026 class, where the Longhorns are expected to take two players at the position.
Top 100 recruits in the 2026 class in the 247Sports Composite like Texarkana (TX) Texas High five-star Tradarian Ball, Carthage (TX) high-four-star KJ Edwards, and Forney (TX) high-four-star Javian Osborne are all top in-state targets at the position for Choice and the Longhorns.
