Texas football's quarterback commits in the next two recruiting classes, 2025 four-star KJ Lacey and 2026 five-star Dia Bell, have been showcasing their arm talent at various national recruiting events/camps in the last couple of weeks.

5-Star Texas football 2026 QB commit Dia Bell impresses on Day of UA Future 50

The level of quarterback talent head coach Steve Sarkisian has recruited to Texas in past and future cycles has been elite. Texas's quarterback room promises to be stocked full of talent for the foreseeable future under Sarkisian and QB coach AJ Milwee.

Sarkisian continued building on his track record of recruiting and developing elite talent by getting a commitment from the No. 2 QB recruit in the nation in the 2026 class in the 247Sports Composite, Bell, on June 17. Bell joins Lacey among Texas's blue-chip quarterback commitments in the next two recruiting classes.

Last week, Lacey competed in the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles, CA, where he finished among the top five performers at the event. The highly touted four-star from Saraland (AL) High School looked really good at the Elite 11 Finals before taking his official visit to Texas last weekend.

This weekend, Bell is competing in the Under Armour Future 50 in his home state at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. The elite quarterback recruit from Fort Lauderdale (FL) American Heritage High School was among the most impressive signal-callers on Day 1 of the UA Future 50 on June 28.

On3's Cody Bellaire named Bell as the seventh-best performer among all the position groups on Day 1 of the UA Future 50 on Friday. Bellaire was complimentary of Bell's natural arm talent and the different platforms and release points he can get the ball out from.

"Another quarterback that I felt spun it extremely well on Friday was Dia Bell. From an arm talent perspective, Bell is as good as anyone in the 2026 cycle. He’s the definition of a natural thrower. His ability to manipulate the football and throw consistently catchable footballs from multiple arm angles is a treat to watch. He was dicing up defenses on Friday evening and made a few special throws throughout the day. He’s someone that has ton of upside especially as he develops and fills out his frame down the line."

The 6-foot-2 and 195-pound quarterback from Florida Bell is proving why most major recruiting services have ranked him among the two or three best prospects from Florida in the 2026 cycle. How much talent and athleticism he possesses at the quarterback position makes him a special prospect who is drawing other recruits to the Longhorns for 2026.

Just a week after Bell committed to Texas's 2026 class, the speedy four-star Pearland (TX) Shadow Creek wide receiver Chris Stewart also gave his pledge to the Longhorns. Bell's presence as Texas's first commitment (among those that still remain) in the 2026 class is sure to draw other top skill talents who want to join him on the Forty Acres in the SEC.

The first day of UA Future 50 at IMG saw the 2026 recruits compete in a 5-on-5 event. The festivities for UA Future 50 will continue for the next couple of days this weekend.
