For the first time in primetime this season, No. 2 Texas football will play under the lights at DKR against the UTSA Roadrunners on Sep. 14. Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian will face head coach Jeff Traylor and UTSA at DKR for the first time since the 2022 season this weekend.

The Longhorns are still riding high coming off their impressive win on the road at the Big House last weekend over the defending National Champion and No. 10 ranked Michigan Wolverines. Texas handily defeated Michigan in Ann Arbor on Sep. 7 by a score of 31-12.

A win over UTSA and the UL-Monroe Warhawks in the next couple of weeks could move the Longhorns to an undefeated 4-0 record entering SEC play on Sep. 28 against Mississippi State at DKR.

Sarkisian and the Longhorns are a hefty double-digit favorite by five touchdowns against the Roadrunners in Week 3 at home. As long as Texas keeps its focus where it needs to be and is ready to go after the big win on the road last weekend, the Longhorns should be able to get the likes of true freshman quarterback Arch Manning and the other talented young players some valuable live-game reps in the second half.

Since ESPN/Disney agreed to a deal with DirecTV today, the Longhorns faithful with that TV package will be able to watch Texas on ESPN on national television on Saturday night against UTSA.
