Texas's top priority recruit in the 2025 class at the running back position, Santa Ana (CA) Mater Dei high-four-star Jordon Davison, is one of the most highly anticipated Junior Day visitors this weekend. Despite being from California, Davison will have nearly visited Texas a double-digit number of times in the last couple of years after the Junior Day trip this weekend.

This is a really important visit for the Longhorns to get momentum firmly back in their favor in this recruitment.

While Texas has long been considered the program in the pole position in the race to land a commitment from Davison, USC and the Ohio State Buckeyes have been charging fast lately for the elite running back from Southern California.

Ohio State has made major pushes for some of their top priority running back recruits in the 2025 class lately, including Davison. USC has also been a major in-state presence in this recruitment for a long time.

Running backs coach Tashard Choice and the Longhorns have a big opportunity here to retake their firm lead, as Davison could reportedly be closing in on a decision shortly. If Texas knocks it out of the park with Davison this weekend, as they have many times before when he visited the Forty Acres in the last 12 or 15 months, it's hard not to see Texas being the favorite to win this recruitment.
