Myron Charles, DL (Florida State commit)

Texas currently has one defensive tackle recruit committed to the 2025 class late this summer, former Oregon four-star pledge and California native Josiah Sharma. Kenny Baker and the Longhorns are looking to add two or three more defensive linemen commits in the 2025 class before signing day in early December.

The top out-of-state defensive tackle flip target that is currently committed to another Power 4 school for the Longhorns is Port Charlotte (FL) four-star Myron Charles.

Earlier this summer, Charles committed to the Florida State Seminoles over the Longhorns, Florida Gators, and Miami. Since Charles committed to Florida State in late June, the Longhorns haven't thrown in the towel. Baker and the Longhorns staff have remained in constant communication with Charles in the last couple of months.

It sounds like a gameday visit is on the table, despite Charles still being committed to Florida State.

Since the Seminoles were upset by the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Dublin, Ireland, in Week 0, the rumors of multiple FSU commitments keeping their options open are apparent.

Another DL flip target

Along with Charles, Baker and the Longhorns are looking at multiple other out-of-state defensive line options among recruits they like in the 2025 class this fall. Texas has offered multiple three-star defensive line prospects from Georgia in the past couple of weeks, including three-star Florida commit Joseph Mbatchou and three-star Arkansas Razorbacks commit Caleb Bell.

One in-state defensive tackle flip target to watch for the Longhorns in the 2025 class this fall is four-star Nebraska commit and Galveston (TX) Hitchcock product Malcolm Simpson. Texas has picked up the communication with Simpson in the last few weeks, and a gameday visit could be on the table for him to get to DKR in Austin this season.
