Texas Women's Basketball is preparing for their first season as members of the Southeastern Conference. The games will be a lot tougher compared to the Big 12 Conference. They will go up against the defending national champions as part of their SEC schedule.

Before the Longhorns even get to their conference schedule, they will have time to mess around with their starting lineup. Here's a way too early starting lineup prediction for Longhorns Women's Basketball.

Texas women's basketball projected starting lineup: PG Madison Booker

Sophomore forward Madison Booker will likely be the starting point guard to begin the season until Senior guard Rori Harmon is healthy. Booker is coming off a historic season as a first-year college basketball player. Booker has won multiple postseason awards, such as making the WBCA All-American Team.

Coach Vic Schaefer will trust her running the offense to begin the season.

Shooting guard: Laila Phelia

The transfer guard from Michigan will provide quality minutes on the court. Phelia averaged 17 points during her junior season for the Wolverines last year. She will help fill the void after Shaylee Gonzales declared for the WNBA Draft after the March Madness tournament. Expect her to be a three-point shooter on the court. She also provides lockdown defense on the perimeter. She will be a day-one addition to the starting lineup.

Small forward: Justice Carlton

Carlton will get some playing time to begin the season as a freshman. She has been described as an active forward who can stretch the court after bringing in rebounds. Once Harmon is ready to play, Booker will return to the small forward position.

Carlton can show Schaefer that she can handle SEC opponents once a spot in the lineup opens up. When the basketball season begins, keep an eye on Carlton because she could remain in the starting lineup.

Power forward: Aaliyah Moore

Moore will play the power forward position to begin the season in the fall. Moore was a key player during their March Madness run this past March. She stepped up in a big way in some of the earlier tournament games when the offense couldn't buy a basket.

Schaefer will need her to learn not to foul often because they can't afford her to be in foul trouble during SEC games this upcoming season. Moore will provide excellent leadership on the court as well.

Center: Taylor Jones

Taylor Jones will be the starting center next season. Jones is another player that Schaefer is happy to have back in their first season playing SEC Basketball. Jones will be the primary rebounder and defender of the basket.

Her height will help with some SEC centers the Longhorns will face during conference play. It's great to have another veteran like Jones back from last season. It will make the Longhorns one of the top women's basketball teams in the SEC this upcoming season.
