After former Texas A&M Aggies big 6-foot-6 and 200-pound junior wide receiver Noah Thomas officially entered the transfer portal last week, multiple P4 schools emerged as potential contenders for his portal recruitment.

It was reported that the Miami Hurricanes, Georgia, and Texas were considered to be three "schools to watch" once Thomas officially entered the transfer portal on Jan. 3. The USC Trojans have also joined the mix among the teams showing interest in Thomas in his portal recruitment.

In the past couple of days, though, various reports have come out mentioning that the Longhorns might not be pushing as hard as other schools to pursue Thomas in the transfer portal. Inside Texas's Charlie Williams reported this weekend that Texas hasn't put its foot on the gas for Thomas's portal recruitment as much as other schools, like Georgia and Miami.

That said, the Longhorns have still shown interest in what Thomas could bring to their receiving corps as a big outside possession receiver in Sarkisian's offense at Texas.

If the Longhorns do decide to end up pushing for Thomas to get to campus for a visit to Austin in the near future, it will still be a possibility for him to end up at Texas.

Texas is expected to be in the market for one experienced and proven playmaker at wideout from the transfer portal this upcoming offseason for 2025.
