Predicting Texas's next 2025 commit after DB Kade Phillips
In less than 24 hours, the 2025 Texas football recruiting class will begin getting LOIs in from signed commitments for this cycle on the first signing day on Dec. 4. Early on Wednesday morning kicks off the Early Signing Period (lasting from Dec. 4-6) for the 2025 class on the recruiting trail.
Texas football looking to finish emphatically through the whistle for signing day on Dec. 4 for the 2025 recruiting class
Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian have a path to the No. 1 ranked recruiting class in the nation for the 2025 cycle in the 247Sports Composite. Sarkisian and staff will have to knock all of their top recruitments in the 2025 class in the next few days out of the park during the Early Signing Period, including landing multiple five stars.
But the Longhorns are off to a strong start for this class to be ranked, at a minimum, in the top three in the nation for this cycle.
The Longhorns got up to 23 commitments in the 2025 class on Dec. 3, with five-star Missouri City (TX) Fort Bend Hightower defensive back Kade Phillips recommitting to Texas on Tuesday morning. Phillips flipped his pledge from the LSU Tigers to Texas one day before the start of the Early Signing Period early this week.
Kellen Wiley, LB
All signs have pointed to the Longhorns trending for the highly touted four-star Tampa (FL) Armwood linebacker Kellen Wiley heading into signing day on Wednesday morning early this week. Texas holds the lead in this recruitment for Wiley over the Miami Hurricanes and Maryland Terrapins ahead of what is expected to be a Wednesday decision for the talented linebacker from Florida.
A successful late-cycle official visit a couple of weeks ago greatly boosted Texas's chances of winning this recruitment for Wiley on signing day on Dec. 4.
