Texas football recruiting faces a critical stretch on the trail for the 2025 class over the next few weeks, as flip season approaches fast late this fall. Before signing day on Dec. 4, multiple Texas commits have been taking visits to other competing schools on the recruiting trail for the 2025 class.
An important few weeks follow Texas football in the 2025 class before signing day
Flip season is a two-way street, and with what we've seen fro the Longhorns recently on the field and on the recruiting trail, it looks like the 2025 class still has the path to finish top three or five nationally for this cycle in the 247Sports Composite.
Earlier this week, the Longhorns added a big commitment to the defensive back class of 2025 from former four-star Clemson Tigers pledge and Tampa (FL) Wiregrass Ranch cornerback Graceson Littleton. Just a couple of weeks before he committed to the Longhorns, Littleton was committed to Clemson.
Things will happen fast on the recruiting trail for the 2025 class over the next few weeks before signing day in early December. But we have a good idea of how the Longhorns can stack up this cycle in those coming days and weeks.
Here's a prediction of the next 2025 recruit to commit to Texas after Littleton on Nov. 14.
Kellen Wiley, LB
Texas has a handful of outstanding linebacker targets remaining on the trail before signing day in a few weeks in early December. Among the uncommitted remaining linebacker targets for the Longhorns in the 2025 class, California four-star Madden Faraimo and Florida four-star Kellen Wiley are the two most important late this fall.
Last weekend, the latter of those two key out-of-state linebacker targets for the Longhorns in the 2025 class took his official visit to Texas for the Florida Gators game on Nov. 9. Wiley came away from his official visit to Texas impressed by the victory for the Longhorns on the field and the environment at DKR during the game.
Next weekend, Wiley will take an official visit to Coral Gables to see the Miami Hurricanes host Wake Forest. That official visit to Miami will be very telling of where Wiley's recruitment stands heading into signing day.
Miami seems to have at least a slight lead in this recruitment for Wiley heading into his final scheduled official visit next week to Coral Gables. But the Longhorns are still involved here, and Wiley is still a realistic candidate to take that final linebacker spot for Texas's high school recruiting efforts in the 2025 class entering signing day.
