It was reported a couple of months ago that Texas football quarterback Quinn Ewers plans to enter the 2025 NFL Draft next spring. There has been some speculation from the media and various fan circles around the college football landscape regarding Ewers' impending decision for this upcoming offseason.

The focus for Ewers is on the College Football Playoff for the Longhorns this postseason. Ewers has led the Longhorns to double-digit wins for a second straight season. He's thrown for 2,867 yards, 26 passing touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, while completing 66.5 percent of his passing attempts in 2024 for Texas.

Ewers leads the Longhorns' offense into the Peach Bowl quarterfinal for the College Football Playoff on New Year's Day against the Big 12 Champion and four-seed Arizona State Sun Devils.

On3 reported on Dec. 31 that "tampering is at an all-time high" with the Texas quarterback. Ewers reportedly has "received a $6 million offer to return and enter the portal" for the 2025 season.

If Ewers decided to enter the transfer portal, he would be one of the most highly sought-after quarterbacks for this upcoming offseason.

ESPN NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay said he believes Ewers should enter the portal as a grad transfer for one more season in college.

"I've had multiple solicited and unsolicited conversations with folks in the league about Quinn Ewers. Every single person I've talked to in the league, every evaluator part of the NFL Draft process believes Quinn Ewers should grad transfer. Some people want him to return to Texas. That's not an option. Quinn Ewers ain't returning to Texas. It is Arch's time in Austin the second the season ends, whether it ends in a National Championship or it ends in disappointment. When this season is over for Texas, it is Arch's time in Austin."

For his career as a starting quarterback at Texas, Ewers has thrown for over 8,000 yards, 63 passing touchdowns, 22 interceptions, and seven rushing touchdowns. He's 26-8 as a starter for the Longhorns in his career, and 1-1 in the postseason.

Ewers led the Longhorns to a Big 12 Championship last season, and the program's first-ever appearance in the College Football Playoff.
