Quinn Ewers' NFL Draft room had people (and animals) turning heads

Former Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers was hoping to hear his name called on night two of the 2025 NFL Draft, and a lot of people were gasping at his room.

Quinn Ewers is a Texas kid through and through. Despite spending a year with the Ohio State Buckeyes, Ewers grew up just a few hours north of Austin and belonged in burnt orange. Now, after three years leading the Longhorns' offense, Ewers is looking toward the next step.

While the former Texas quarterback was far from a first-round draft expectation, there were some rumblings that he could hear his name called on the second night (in rounds two or three).

Before the draft even officially kicked off on Friday night, ESPN and the NFL Network were skipping from one draft hopeful's room view to another, including Ewers' digs in Chico, TX–just a few hours from where he grew up.

To the shock, awe, and somewhat horror of people watching (including the cast of ESPN's College GameDay), Ewers was surrounded by heads. Yes, you read that right, heads. Behind Ewers were dozens of taxidermy heads and complete animals, some even decked out in Dallas Cowboys gear.

For most Texas and Ewers fans, the room wasn't all that surprising. The quarterback grew up on the outskirts of Dallas and first arrived at Texas with an absolutely phenomenal mullet atop his head. However, some people clearly forgot where Ewers' roots are planted, and they weren't quite sure how to take his draft room.

In the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, three of Ewers' teammates were selected: offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr., defensive back Jahdae Barron, and wide receiver Matthew Golden. Banks was selected ninth overall by the New Orleans Saints, Barron was picked 20th overall by the Denver Broncos, and Golden was drafted 23rd by the Green Bay Packers.
