Quinn Ewers responds to rumors about him sitting out for the rest of the season

Don't worry, your starting quarterback plans to remain your starting quarterback. After rumors started circulating on Monday afternoon and into the early evening about Quinn Ewers planning to sit out the rest of the year to prepare for the NFL Draft, the Texas quarterback responded.
247Sports appeared to get a jump on the breaking news, posting a graphic on Instagram around 5 p.m. CT on Monday that said "BREAKING NEWS: Texas QB Quinn Ewers will sit out the rest of the season to prepare for the NFL Draft."
The post was quickly deleted but not before people had already laid eyes on it and the information had caught on like wildfire. People were talking about it in every corner of the country, already discussing the succession plan that had become relatively obvious: Arch Manning.
However, rumors were quickly shut down as ESPN's Pete Thamel shared a message on X (Twitter) that sources close to Ewers had reached out to share that the information was entirely false and that the sports media account had likely been hacked.
Just moments later, Chip Brown, one of the Texas Longhorn insiders for 247Sports shared on Reddit that the company's account had, in fact, been hacked.
Conversations about the Texas quarterback room have been ever-present this season, especially with Ewers' injury and Manning's success while he filled in for the Longhorns' QB1. However, head coach Steve Sarkisian has repeatedly voiced that Ewers is his go-to guy and will remain in that role for as long as possible.
Texas visits Vanderbilt in Week 9 to take on the Commodores who are currently on a hot streak. The Longhorns and the 'Dores are scheduled to kick off at 3:15 p.m. CT on Saturday, Oct. 26.
