Sarkisian hints at possible new role for star CB Graceson Littleton in 2026

Sark was asked about Graceson Littleton's future in yesterday's media presser, and he had a pretty surprising answer.

Texas HC Steve Sarkisian met with the media yesterday for the first time this year, and he gave lots of interesting updates for multiple different position groups, including the offensive line (finally).

One of the biggest and most surprising updates he gave was regarding Texas' "wonderkid" slot corner Graceson Littleton.

When asked about whether or not we could see Littleton play on the outside in 2026, Sarkisian responded with something that made everyone in the room prop up a little bit:

"Surely, you're going to see Graceson do both. You're going to see him playing some nickel and some at corner. You're going to see Xavier Filsaime playing some safety and some nickel. And I'm using those two guys as an easy example, but I think a lot of our guys we're going to try to develop them to do more than just being kind of one-trick ponies. The more they can do, the better it's going to be for us long term ."

It was incredibly surprising to hear Sark say that Littleton would be seeing snaps on the outside, as that's something that he didn't do in 2025. Everyone was expecting him to say something along the lines of "probably not", as having a player who specializes and was above-average in a certain spot usually doesn't move around much.

There isn't a need to do so either, as Texas also has a surplus of outside corners right now, which makes it even more interesting. Bo Mascoe, Kade Phillips, Kobe Black, Warren Roberson, and Wardell Mack are players who are expected to be mainstays on the outside heading into 2026.
