It feels like every week, five-star running back Landen Williams-Callis seemingly leads his team to victory, makes a miraculous play of some variety, and sets an area or in-state record.
This week was different. No, his team didn't lose. Yes, he still had a jaw-dropping performance. And yes, he still set himself even farther above the rest of the Houston-area high school football players. However, this week, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian and running backs coach Jabbar Juluke were on the sidelines to see it unfold.
It's commonplace for a head coach to use the bye week for recruiting, which is exactly what Sarkisian has done this week. However, he could have gone anywhere on Thursday night, with a couple of dozen prospects committed to Texas from the class of 2027, but he chose Williams-Callis' game.
And to put it lightly, Williams-Callis made it well worth his while.
The blue-chip running back had 15 carries for a jaw-dropping 327 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the ground. Plus, he completed his fourth pass of the season, this one going for a 26-yard touchdown.
Another game, and yet another monster performance from 5-star Texas commit Landen Williams-Callis. Oh, did we mention he also threw for a touchdown? 🤯

In other words, Williams-Callis put on a freaking show as he led Randle High School to a 78-0 win over South Houston with his future head coach and position coach watching.
Clearly, he is one of the most highly-coveted players in Texas's class of 2027, not only because he is one of the highest-ranked players, but because Sarkisian and his staff are willing to dedicate their very minimal "free time" to him, even with him already committed to the Horns.
Texas gets a glimpse of how good the RB room will be with Landen Williams-Callis
The performance pushed Williams-Callis that much closer to quite a few Texas high school records, including getting him that much closer to the state's all-time rushing leader, Keagan Ash, who set the record at 11,382 ground yards last season.
More importantly, it gave Sarkisian and Juluke a glimpse of what they can expect out of Williams-Callis once he sets foot on the 40 Acres.
Of course, college football is a little different than facing South Houston High, but the state of Texas still boasts some of the best offensive and defensive products every year. In layman's terms, it's not like Williams-Callis is going up against a JV team or playing six-man football.
So far this season, Williams-Callis has amassed 1,166 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns on the ground. He has completed four passes on just six attempts for an additional 73 yards and two touchdowns through the air. Plus, before last night's game even kicked off, he had also earned 26 yards on just four receptions.
Simply put, Williams-Callis is not just a five-star running back; he is a monster of an athlete, and once he dons a burnt orange uniform, the Longhorns' offense might genuinely become unstoppable.
