Loganville (GA) Grayson four-star linebacker Anthony Davis Jr. is one of Texas football's top out-of-state linebacker targets in the 2026 recruiting class from the Southeast. He's already visited Texas once for the Kentucky game on Senior Day in late November at DKR.

Davis announced his top 12 finalist schools on social media this past fall. He named the Auburn Tigers, Texas, Colorado Buffaloes, USC Trojans, Oklahoma Sooners, Alabama Crimson Tide, Ohio State Buckeyes, Clemson Tigers, Penn State Nittany Lions, Tennessee Volunteers, Oregon Ducks, and Michigan Wolverines in his top 12 in September.

He said the "environment" and "people" in Austin during his visit to Texas for the Kentucky game a couple of months ago made the biggest difference for his experience on campus.

"I was at Texas for the Kentucky game and it was a great visit. They showed a lot of love and they explained to me how I am wanted and why they want me. The best part of the visit was how they made it feel at home. Texas has a great environment and great people."

Texas is reportedly one of the schools that is standing out to Davis early in his recruitment. He told On3 that Tennessee, Auburn, USC, and Texas are "really coming hard" in his recruitment entering the upcoming offseason.

Davis has visited all four schools that he said are "definitely up there" for him and he wants to visit them each again soon early in the 2025 offseason.

Texas has made multiple blue-chip out-of-state linebacker offers from Grayson High School in Georgia big priorities for the 2026 class on the trail. Davis and five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson have both visited Texas and are looking to get back to campus on the Forty Acres at some point during the 2025 offseason.
