As the Texas A&M and Oklahoma baseball teams suffered losses, much to the joy of Longhorn fans, the Texas baseball team secured its 10th win of the season with a dominant 15-5 win over the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders.

It took just seven innings for the Horns to rack up five homers and 14 runs, then one extra runner around the bases earned Texas the run-rule victory over Corpus Christi.

Catcher Rylan Galvan knocked in four RBIs and scored three runs of his own on just two hits... That just so happened to both be home runs. Second baseman Ethan Mendoza, centerfielder Will Gasparino, and third baseman Casey Borba each hit a homer to combine for five more of Texas' runs.

So far this season, the Horns have gone 10-1, only dropping their first matchup of the year. Currently, Texas is on a 10-game winning streak as the team flies towards its first season as a part of the SEC.

The Longhorns are in their first season under new head coach Jim Schlossnagle, who previously coached the Texas A&M Aggies. To say that the move in leadership is paying off is an understatement. Just last year, Texas only had a 7-4 record at this point in the season, losing disappointing matchups against teams like Texas State and San Diego.

Texas is currently ranked No. 12 in the nation after sweeping the Las Vegas Classic, where the Horns defeated Washington, Illinois, and Texas Tech. Up next, the Longhorns will host the Santa Clara Broncos in a three-game series at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.

So far this season, Santa Clara is 7-4 overall. The first game between the Horns and the Broncos is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. CT on Friday, March 7.
