After the exciting upset over Texas A&M on Friday, the AP voters have decided to move the Longhorns up to No.14 in the recent poll update. Despite only moving up two spots, it's still a fairly "large" move at this point in the year.

They're ahead of both Utah, who got their 10th win of the season but just missed out on locking up a spot in the BIG12 Championship Game, and Virginia who did clinch a spot in the ACC Championship Game this weekend.

Now, it's a waiting game to find out the what's going to happen for the Longhorns in the postseason. Realistically, Texas will probably just play in a higher-end bowl game, but there's still a small chance for them to make it into the College Football Playoffs.

The Selection Committee could take into consideration that the Longhorns have beaten three top 10 teams in 2025 and played Ohio State better than anyone else in the regular season. Yes, they lost to an underwhelming Florida team, but the wins that Texas have more than outweigh the losses from a difficulty standpoint. If the selection process is truly about resume' and quality of wins (like it should be), then the committee will at least consider the Longhorns in the decision-making process.

Texas shouldn't be discounted just because they have three losses, when they have better quality wins than 90% of the teams in the country.

It's okay if the Longhorns don't make the playoffs, but if it gets leaked that they weren't even in consideration, then something needs to change. This would mean that it was just centered around public perception, which has no place in postseason deliberation.
