Texas fans can laugh at Oklahoma's pathetic effort to get hyped up before 4th quarter

The Texas Longhorns can get a good kick out of the Oklahoma Sooners' embarrassing attempt to get their crowd excited before the end of the game.

It seems like every week, the Oklahoma Sooners hand-feed the Horns a new reason to laugh at their long-time rivals.

In Week 4, as the Texas Longhorns breezed past the Sam Houston Bearkats, the Sooners were playing their first SEC game of the year, against the Auburn Tigers, and in a last-ditch effort to get their fans into the game, played "We Will Rock You" by Queen.

To put it lightly, it was a complete and utter failure. The crowd was silent, almost nobody was clapping along (aside from the OU cheerleaders, who had to), and the legendary classic rock song fell flat.

Sure, Oklahoma went on to win the game (against a highly overrated Tigers team), but oh man, did the Sooners give Texas some great ammo for when the two teams clash in a few weeks.

Texas and Oklahoma are about to play in their 121st meeting, with the Horns owning a dominant lead in the head-to-head history. Since the first game in 1893, Texas has won 64 of the matchups and Oklahoma has won on just 51 occasions, the two teams tying five times throughout their illustrious shared history.

This game has always just meant more, even before the two teams joined the SEC. The rivalry, the history, the golden cowboy hat trophy, it all carries a weight.

"This is the most unique game I have been a part of," Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said about the Red River Rivalry last year. "Half of the game is a home game, the other half of the game is a road game, and I had to learn that the hard way."

"Both teams play as hard as they possibly can in that game."

This year, the currently-ranked No. 10 Longhorns and No. 7 Sooners are scheduled to kick off on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 2:30 p.m. CT. It will be Texas quarterback Arch Manning's first-ever game against Oklahoma, and Sooner quarterback John Mateer's first-ever game against the Horns.
