Third-year cornerback and potential starter Warren Roberson has officially decided to remove his name from the transfer portal and return to Texas in 2026.

This is incredibly good news as his absence could've potentially forced some young Longhorns to see extended playing time next season on the boundary.

His return makes a ton of sense for both the team and himself as he'll get a lot more playing time in 2026 after an excellent perfomance against Michigan in the Citrus Bowl that saw him combine for 5 total tackles and a couple of big pass deflections. He was matched up with star UM wide receiver Andrew Marsh for much of the game and limited him to only 3 catches for 10 yards.

The 5'10", 188-pound Roberson will most likely challenge Kade Phillips and/or Kobe Black for one of the starting outside corner positions. True freshman Graceson Littleton already has the nickel spot locked down after completely blowing the coaching staff away in 2025. Black was also in the portal recently but then pulled his name out after a short period of time. It'll be interesting to see if anything comes out about Blake Gideon's presence potentially playing a big role in getting these guy to return.

Roberson played 454 total snaps in 2025, recording 19 total tackles with multiple impressive pass breakups.

He returns to Texas with two years of eligibility remaining and a bright future beginning with the opportunity to show out and solidify a starting spot in the spring.
