Following the passion that Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian showed after his team came back to defeat the Mississippi State Bulldogs, nobody should question whether or not the Longhorns' leader is going anywhere.
After a tumultuous three quarters, the Horns stormed back to tie the game and eventually win it in overtime. Then, in the postgame press conference, Sarkisian finally got to address the rumors from earlier that day.
Steve Sarkisian continues to deny NFL rumors
"It really pisses me off that one person can make a report that, in turn, the entire media sports world runs with as factual," Sarkisian said.
He was, of course, referring to the report from The Athletic that had been published on Saturday morning, claiming that the Texas head coach was interested in leaving for the NFL.
"I thought it was absolutely ridiculous," Sarkisian said. "I thought it was completely unprofessional of that person to put that report out."
The story was written by Dianna Russini, an NFL insider for The Athletic, and reported that one of Sarkisian's representatives had reached out to her, saying that he was interested in a head coaching role at the next level.
Hours later, Sarkisian's agents released a statement, saying that the report was "patently false and wildly inaccurate."
Sarkisian went on to talk about the fact that he keeps his personal circle extremely small for this exact reason; he wants to be able to trust everyone who is close to him without even an inkling of a doubt.
"I respect what [the media] do, I really do, and everybody else, but the fact that everybody ran that as truth is really embarrassing," Sarkisian said.

Next week, Sarkisian and the No. 20 Longhorns are set to host the No. 9 Vanderbilt Commodores in a game that will hopefully come with at least a little less drama before kickoff. The matchup is scheduled to kick off at 11 a.m. CT and will be broadcast on ABC.
