Ex-USC and Arizona State running back Raleek Brown has officially chosen Texas as his next home, and Steve Sarkisian couldn't be any happier after recently missing out on Louisville's Isaac Brown.

The explosive ball carrier rushed for 1,141 yards and 4 touchdowns in 2025, while averaging a whopping 6.1 yards per carry average. He also contributed quite a bit in the passing game for the Sun Devils with 34 receptions for 239 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns.

As we reported a couple days ago, the Longhorns were trending for Brown over the past few days, and now it becomes official.

Raleek Brown is the exact type of speedy, super agile running back that Texas was looking for in this year's portal. The offense needed an injection of talent in the backfield after Quintrevion Wisner, C.J. Baxter, Jerrick Gibson, Rickey Stewart Jr., and Colin Page all decided to hop in the portal and leave.

Brown has the type of speed and above-average acceleration that it takes to be successful on a lot of Steve Sarkisian's outside runs, whereas Christian Clark and James Simon are bigger backs and are more natural fits as inside runners.

It'll be very interesting to see how Texas decides to use Brown in 2026, as he's incredibly versatile as a player. He's able to not only operate as a traditional running back, but he could also be effective as a gadget-type of receiver on end arounds. jet sweeps, screen plays, etc.

The Longhorns nabbed themselves a good one in Brown, and he'll undoubtedly end up being a key piece of Texas' offense in 2026.
