Just days after the Longhorns hired their new running backs coach Chad Scott, it was reported that Texas' defensive backs coach Terry Joseph was leaving the program for a job in the NFL with the New Orleans Saints.
The Horns hired Scott after their former RBs coach Tashard Choice also chose to leave the program to take a job in the NFL after accepting a role with the Detroit Lions.
Joseph had led the Longhorns' secondary since 2021 when he joined head coach Steve Sarkisian's staff after coaching the Notre Dame Fighting Irish for three seasons.

Over his four years with the Horns, Joseph led some of the top defensive backs in the league Anthony Cook, Cade Brewer, and more. With his departure, Sarkisian and Texas will have to return to the drawing board to replace yet another vacancy within the program. Sarkisian has yet to comment on Joseph's departure.
Texas' defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski and offensive coordinator Kyle Flood have made no indication that they plan to leave the program after leading the Longhorns to their second consecutive appearance in the College Football Playoffs.
Sarkisian and the Horns recently announced that they had canceled their annual spring game in an attempt to ensure players would remain within the program, a trend that some schools have struggled with over the last few years.
Texas is set to kick off its 2025 season, its second year in the SEC, with a trip to Columbus for a rematch with the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday, Aug. 30.
