There's nothing to raise alarm about.

Over the last few weeks, the Texas Longhorns have seen a number of starters go down with injuries that have ranged anywhere from a minor tweak to a season-ending affliction.

That included star edge rusher Colin Simmons, starting running back Hollywood Smothers, beloved left tackle Trevor Goosby, and hit-or-miss wideout Cam Coleman.

However, despite the numerous injuries to key players, when the Horns released their initial SEC availability report ahead of their Week 9 game against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, all was as expected on the injury list.

OUT: Trevor Goosby (LT), Richard Wesley (EDGE)

Goosby, the unflappable leader of the flappable Texas offensive line, went down with an injury in the Horns' Week 8 win over the Ole Miss Rebels.

It took less than a day for reports to come out that he would miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury, and he has since undergone reparative surgery. Obviously, he was listed as "out" for the Mississippi State game, as he will be for every game after.

Joining Goosby in the "out" category was edge rusher Richard Wesley, who missed the Ole Miss game entirely with an ankle sprain and will also be unavailable as the Longhorns take on the Bulldogs.

QUESTIONABLE: Colin Simmons (EDGE)

Wesley was expected to step into the JACK role when Simmons went down with his own ankle sprain against the Florida Gators in Week 7, but it looks like the Horns' defensive leader could actually return before his backup.

Simmons was listed as "questionable" for Week 9 on the initial report, giving hope that we could see him in action on Saturday, despite the initial diagnosis ruling him out for 3-4 weeks just two weeks ago.

PROBABLE: Hollywood Smothers (RB), Kaliq Lockett (WR), Cam Coleman (WR)

While the offensive line could be lacking its leader, the offense in general could see the return of a couple of stars, including Smothers, who missed the game against Ole Miss with a lingering lower-leg injury but was listed as "probable" for Week 9.

Coleman, who landed on his shoulder and exited the game against the Rebels, was also listed under the "probable" category, alongside fellow wide receiver Kaliq Lockett.

While Coleman was the prized possession in the transfer portal and has an NIL value of over $3 million, Lockett is an underrated wideout who has yet to truly make his impact known for the Horns. He appeared in just one game this season before appearing on the injury list, earning only one catch for a loss of yards.

Mississippi State Bulldogs' initial injury list vs. Texas Longhorns

Similar to Texas's initial report, there weren't any surprises on the list from the Mississippi State camp.

  • OUT: Kamario Taylor (QB), Jalen Smith (LB), Ayden Williams (WR), Trevion Williams (DL), Diesel Moye (DL)
  • QUESTIONABLE: Isaac Smith (S), DJ Chester (OL)

However, the Bulldogs will be without star quarterback "Super" Kamario Taylor, who helped put MSU on the map over the first few weeks of the season. Additionally, they'll be without wide receiver Ayden Williams, as well as defensive linemen Trevion Williams and Diesel Moye.

Safety Isaac Smith and offensive lineman DJ Chester were both listed as "questionable," so their statuses could evolve as we get closer to kickoff.
