Texas Women's Basketball is refueling over the summer to get ready for another postseason run towards the Final Four. Unfortunately, the Longhorns ran into the South Carolina Gamecocks in the Final Four this past season.

It just goes to show how good of a program Dawn Staley has despite them losing in the National Championship. However, the Longhorns made their first Final Four since 2003, and that's something to be proud of this past season.

After getting some newcomers in the transfer portal this summer, the Longhorns announced they would be playing Basketball up north before the season began. They will represent Team USA at GLOBL JAM, a world-class event that brings basketball talent from all over the world. It's a huge honor, and it gives the team some extra time to get chemistry going before the season begins in October.

This could allow Vic Schaefer some time to finalize who will be in the starting five and who's coming off the bench this season.

In addition to Canada and the United States, teams from Brazil, Puerto Rico, and Japan will also be competing against each other. I hope the girls see this as a significant opportunity to showcase what Vic Schaefer has accomplished as a head coach in Austin.

It will also showcase how good of a team these ladies will have this season. After coming up short in the NCAA Tournament, this feels like an after-season consolation prize for the ladies for all of their hard work.

Rori Harmon will be leading the team as she's returning for her final season as a Texas Longhorn. Fans will also get an early look at freshman phenomenon Aaliyah Crump, who plays a lot like Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers.

Breya Cunningham is another player Longhorns fans will get an early glimpse of. She was a 5-star transfer the Longhorns were able to land from Arizona State. If you ever wanted to travel to Canada to watch some basketball, this would be a good time to do so and cheer on the Longhorns to victory.
