Priority in-state three-star Texas football offensive line target and Euless (TX) Trinity product Toa Katoa made his first visit unofficially to the Forty Acres of the 2025 offseason over the weekend for Junior Day.
Texas football in the mix among the top schools before summer official visits for 3-Star OL Toa Katoa
Texas was already among Katoa's top group of schools in-state as he started taking visits early this offseason. The Longhorns are one of the schools he's visited multiple times since last offseason.
Katoa trimmed his list of finalist schools down to five early on Monday morning, according to a post on his X account on Jan. 27. Texas made the cut for his top five schools, also including the Tennessee Volunteers, SMU Mustangs, Oklahoma Sooners, and Texas A&M Aggies.
Katoa told On3 that he had an "awesome" visit to Austin last weekend for the Junior Day festivities.
He has a great relationship with Texas offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood. Katoa spent time with Flood during his unofficial visit last weekend for Junior Day.
Flood has shown Katoa that he is a key priority for the Longhorns along the offensive line for the 2026 class. Earlier this month, Flood visited Katoa in the DFW Metroplex.
The big 6-foot-3.5 and 365-pound interior offensive lineman Katoa is expected to start scheduling his official visits in the coming weeks. Texas is very likely to be one of the schools that Katoa officially visits this summer.
Katoa fits the bill of the large and powerful "big humans" that Flood and the Longhorns love to get in the trenches in the SEC on both sides of the ball. He's one of the most highly-sought after offensive line prospects in the state of Texas for the 2026 class this offseason.
He ranks as the No. 684 prospect nationally in the 2026 class in the 247Sports Composite, No. 56 interior offensive lineman, and No. 89 from Texas.
