Texas recruiting has been on a heater lately as they've been able to lock in official visits from multiple top-tier targets in the 2027 cycle. A couple of 5-star players in WR Easton Royal and OT Ismael Camara are heading to Austin for their OVs in June, and now in-state wide receivers Tre Moore (Pflugerville, TX) and Julian Caldwell (Argyle, TX) will join them.

The 4-star duo has been on Steve Sarkisian's radar for a while now, and they've quickly become two of the top pass-catchers in the state after they exploded onto the scene as sophomores.

Moore, a 6'3", 200-pound receiver from Pflugerville Weiss HS, was excellent in 2025 as a junior. He has a long frame and a ton of length that he uses to his advantage on each and every rep. He's been basically unstoppable at the catch-point in high school due to his incredibly large catch radius. Moore also has great hands and does an excellent job of contorting his body around to make contested catches.

The only potential downside to Moore in terms of how effective he could be as a true freshman is the simple fact that he's run a very limited route tree at Pflugerville Weiss. He's only been utilized on 4-5 different route combinations, and most of them don't require him to break down and cut in tight areas.

Caldwell, a 6'0", 185-pound playmaker from Argyle HS, is in the mold of current Texas WR Ryan Wingo. He's not as long as Wingo, but he's used in the same ways on designed screens and quick-game plays that allow him to utilize his overall speed and YAC ability.

He's incredibly fast and runs a variety of routes pretty well. Caldwell also does a good job at the catch-point, effectively shielding defenders away from the ball when it arrives in his bubble.

The Longhorns' coaching staff is incredibly pumped to bring these guys in and show them everything that Austin has to offer.
