Texas has officially signed ex-Western Kentucky OG Laurence Seymore via the transfer portal.

He's the fourth offensive linemen to sign with the Longhorns in the 2026 transfer portal alongside Oregon State transfer Dylan Sikorski, Wake Forest transfer Melvin Siani, and Texas A&M transfer Jonte Newman. Steve Sarkisian was searching for one more player to provide depth and versatility along the interior offensive line, and it looks like he found his guy.

Seymore has good size (6'2", 320 lbs.) with an excellent power profile that allows him to displace defenders at the point of attack in various zone and power schemes. He also has starting experience at the FBS level at both guard and center, which was an enormous draw for Texas.

One of the last "weak" spots the Longhorns still had was at backup center. Seymore will undoubtedly work more at guard, where he was a 2nd-team All-CUSA player and FWAA All-American in 2025, but that positional flexibility with be useful this year. He'll be able to effectively man the No.2 center role behind Connor Robertson in 2026 while also raising the floor of the guard position.

Regardless of the fact that he can provide the depth at center that Texas was looking for, he'll also be given the chance to compete for the starting left guard spot as well in the spring. Dylan Sikorski is the better pass blocker right now but Seymore has been a mauler in the run game. Starting Seymore at LG in 2026 could allow Sikorski to sit and develop for a full season before starting in 2027, as he has three years of eligibility remaining compared to Seymore's one.
