5-star wide receiver and current Texas commit, Easton Royal, checked into Gainesville, FL this morning, most likely to watch spring practice at Florida.
Though he's still committed to the Longhorns, he let the team know that he's still going to be taking visits to other schools, as he's one of the hottest commodities on the market right now.
He has otherworldly speed and can separate immediately at the high school level, which is one of his major draws as a recruit. Royal recently ran a 10.26-second 100-meter dash, which is insane for a high school player. Not only is that an Olympic-level time, but it shows up on tape as well.

The way he's able to zip past defenders and make catches downfield with ease is what Texas and other college football teams are hoping will translate over to the collegiate level.
Despite being only 5'11", 185 lbs., he has been known to outmuscle defenders at the catchpoint as well, which bodes incredibly well for projections. He's not just a "burner", he's a receiver first, track star second.
Royal currently holds over 30 FBS offers, and all 30 of those schools are doing everything they can to flip him right now. Hopefully, Texas WR coach Chris Jackson has developed an amazing relationship with him, and Longhorn Nation is praying that the speedster honors his verbal commitment to Texas when National Signing Day 2027 gets here.
Royal has visited multiple schools since committing to Texas on November 29th, with Florida and Tennessee apparently being the biggest threats right now. Not only is he in Gainesville watching practice, but he has an official visit scheduled at Florida for June 11th.
Stay tuned to keep up with Easton Royal's recruitment.
