On Monday afternoon, it was announced that the first Lone Star Showdown since 2011 would officially be under the lights with kickoff set for primetime.

For the first time in over a decade, the Texas Longhorns and the Texas A&M Aggies are set to share a field, and a conference, as the No. 3 Horns prepare to visit the (currently ranked) No. 15 Aggies in College State during Week 14.

The last time the Longhorns played the Aggies in College Station, beloved kicker Justin Tucker made his name known with the game-winning field goal to send Texas A&M off to the SEC in style. However, despite the Longhorns' dominance in the modern era, Texas only has a one-game win streak over its in-state rival.

Just a year before Tucker's successful field goal attempt, the Aggies visited Austin and defeated the Longhorns 24-17.

So far this season, head coach Steve Sarkisian has led the Horns to an impressive 9-1 start and Texas is currently tied for first in the SEC, in their first season as a part of the conference. On the other hand, the Aggies are also 8-2, with only one loss in conference play, and have been dominant at home since their season-opening loss to Notre Dame.

Texas A&M is in its first season under head coach Mike Elko, after firing Jimbo Fisher following a disappointing six seasons. The Aggies have already defeated the then-No. 9 Missouri Tigers and then then-No. 8 LSU Tigers.

Texas and Texas A&M are scheduled to play at 6:30 p.m. CT on Nov. 30. The top-25 SEC matchup will be broadcast on ABC and ESPN+.
