Texas vs. Arkansas: Staff predictions for Week 12
Head coach Steve Sarkisian and No. 3 Texas football are looking to flip the result that they had against the Arkansas Razorbacks on the road in Fayetteville in 2021. Arkansas and head coach Sam Pittman defeated Texas by 19 points when the two teams met to revive this rivalry during the 2021 season (40-21).
Facing Arkansas on the road in Fayetteville will be no easy task for the Longhorns this weekend. Earlier this season in SEC play, the Hogs defeated a top-10-ranked foe in the Tennessee Volunteers (19-14) in Fayetteville in early October.
Had it not been for a couple of unfortunate tipped-ball turnovers against the No. 25 Vanderbilt Commodores in Nashville a few weeks ago, the Longhorns would be absolutely rolling in the past couple of games. Sarkisian's squad pulled out a tough victory on the road against Vandy in Week 9, and looked even more impressive in a win last weekend at home over the Florida Gators.
Sarkisian and the Longhorns had a good week of practice leading up to this anticipated rivalry matchup for the first time between Texas and Arkansas as SEC foes at Razorback Stadium on Nov. 16.
Game predictions for Texas football vs. Arkansas in Week 12
While we respect the acknowledgement from former Florida Gators Heisman-winning star quarterback Tim Tebow that Arkansas has the pieces to have a path to upset Texas, we're going against that idea with out score predictions.
"It starts with Taylen Green. He’s one of the most athletic quarterbacks in the country. His ability to maneuver in the pocket, but then also extend on the outside and make people miss — it’s just silly. It’s an uncanny ability to make it look super easy and outrun everybody. He’s got to play well, and he has throughout this season, but it’s been hit and miss. "
- Tim Tebow
As long as Sarkisian and the Longhorns get a quick start, as they did in the 49-17 convincing win over the Gators on Nov. 9 at DKR, they should be able to get the jump on the Hogs today.
