No. 5 Texas football and head coach Steve Sarkisian continue their quest to make a run to the SEC Championship Game and potentially the 12-team College Football Playoff this weekend at home against the Florida Gators.

Texas and Florida both have injuries at key position groups on both sides of the ball, including quarterback, defensive back, and the receiving corps. The SEC-mandated injury report was updated on Wednesday and Thursday ahead of the kickoff of the Texas-Florida game on Nov. 9.

After the bye week last week, we have a good idea of which Longhorns players will be able to return from various injury issues for the matchup on Saturday against the Gators and head coach Billy Napier.

Here's a look at the full injury report for the top-25 matchup between No. 5 Texas and Florida at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, TX, on Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. CT.

Andrew Mukuba, S (Probable)

After missing the Vanderbilt game a couple of weeks ago, senior safety Andrew Mukuba is expected to return from a knee injury this week against Florida. Mukuba suffered a knee injury in the second half of Texas's loss to the Georgia Bulldogs on Oct. 19.

On the Thursday injury report update, Mukuba's status was upgraded from "questionable" to "probable".

Mukuba has registered 25 combined tackles, one tackle for loss, eight defensive stops, two interceptions, and three pass breakups in seven games played (six starts) this season.

In Mukuba's absence against Vandy, Texas started redshirt junior Michael Taaffe and sophomore Jelani McDonald at safety. In the first start of his collegiate career, McDonald had a career game, registering seven combined tackles, three defensive stops, and one tackle for loss.

Isaiah Bond, WR (Probable)

Junior wide receiver Isaiah Bond looks set to make his return from a lower-body injury against Florida this weekend after missing the Vandy game a couple of weeks ago. Bond suffered an ankle injury on Oct. 12 against the Oklahoma Sooners in the Red River Rivalry game.

Bond played against Georgia on Oct. 19, but missed Texas's game on Oct. 26 against Vandy due to the ankle injury he suffered against Oklahoma.

Before suffering the ankle injury a few weeks ago, Bond led the team in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.

Vernon Broughton, DT (Out for first half)*

There is an asterisk next to the name of senior defensive tackle Vernon Broughton because he is not technically on the report this week before of an injury. Broughton is out for the first half of the Florida game due to a targeting flag called against him in the second half of the win over Vandy on Oct. 26.

Broughton has started all eight games he's played for Texas's defensive line this season, registering 16 combined tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, 11 quarterback pressures, 12 defensive stops, one batted ball, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries.
