There might not be a bigger game in the SEC this regular season than No. 1 Texas football and head coach Steve Sarkisian battling head coach Kirby Smart and the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs in primetime at DKR in Week 8. In the first top-five matchup in the AP Poll at DKR since 2006, Texas and Georgia are looking to bolster their path to the SEC Championship Game and for their College Football Playoff bracket selection resume.

Texas and Georgia are both loaded with talent and depth on each side of the ball, including a multitude of future NFL guys for each squad.

These two teams will meet on the field in front of a sold out crowd at DKR in Austin under the lights for the first ranked primetime matchup of the regular season for the Longhorns. And there's a good chance that the winner of this game cements their path to the SEC Championship Game in early December in Atlanta.

Here's a look at the final betting odds and game prediction for the Week 8 matchup between No. 1 Texas and No. 5 Georgia at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, TX, on Oct. 19 at 6:30 p.m. CT.

Texas football vs. Georgia odds

Texas is a 4.5-point favorite against Georgia a few hours before kickoff in Week 8. And the Longhorns are favored in the money line (-184) over the Dawgs (+152), per FanDuel. The over/under is 56.5 points.

The betting line has moved one point in the Longhorns' favor after Texas opened as a 3.5-point favorite against Georgia in the initial betting odds released late last week.

Texas football vs. Georgia prediction

Georgia's offense is the best Texas's defense has faced this season. Super senior Carson Beck is the best quarterback the Longhorns have faced this season, and he will be playing in the NFL on Sundays in the very near future.

Texas's pass defense must be up to the task if the Longhorns want to hold Georgia's potent pass offense at bay tonight at DKR.

On the other sideline, redshirt junior Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers must be on his game to consistently deliver the ball to all the threatening skill weapons he has on the outside. As expected, Ewers was up and down in his first start back after missing roughly one month due to an abdominal strain injury against Oklahoma in a dominant victory in the Red River Rivalry game.

Ewers has usually been up to the task in these bigger games against top-10-ranked opponents, especially against teams from the SEC, in the past couple of years. If we get the version of Ewers that showed up for the Michigan game in Week 2 in the double-digit win in Ann Arbor, or in Week 2 last season in the win over Alabama in Tuscaloosa, that type of big-game Quinn performance would be huge for the Longhorns.

"One thing I’ve learned about Quinn in our three years together, he shows up in these types of games. I think that’s a byproduct of his preparation. We’ve gotten this guy now, into year three, where he kind of thinks like me."

Steve Sarkisian on Quinn Ewers

Sarkisian expressed confidence in Ewers' ability to rise to the occasion in these big games during an appearance on ESPN College GameDay on Oct. 19.

If one of these two teams doesn't reach the 30-point mark in this game, I have a feeling that will be the losing side. There is just too much talent and offensive firepower for each squad not for there to be at least a decent amount of points for the Longhorns and Dawgs in this high-stakes matchup.

Final score prediction: Texas-37, Georgia-33
