After the gut-wrenching report that the Texas Longhorns' starting left tackle Trevor Goosby had left a fall camp practice early with a non-contact knee injury, it was shockingly smooth sailing on the 40 Acres.

Now, by the grace of all things burnt orange, Goosby is "good to go" for the Horns' Week 1 matchup against the Texas State Bobcats.

Beyond the offensive lineman's temporary status on the injury report, head coach Steve Sarkisian had zero (and I mean 0) injuries to share ahead of the first game of the year.

LT Trevor Goosby: Available

While it is great news that Goosby has returned to full health, this game may not be the one to fully put his knee to the test... not yet, at least.

Texas hosts the Ohio State Buckeyes next week, and he will have to be fully healthy for that top-five matchup. So, Sarkisian may have Goosby play for a few drives to shake off the rust that builds when you're sidelined for a couple of weeks, before allowing him to rest for the remainder of the game, especially if the Longhorns build a sizeable lead.

Yes, Goosby is "good to go" right now, but when the Horns face the Buckeyes, he will need to be a full go.

In fact, now that Goosby is back in the rotation, the only concern Sarkisian had for his players was the fact that they would go through "growing pains" as the season kicks off, but that happens to every team, every year.

Of course, there was no injury report provided directly from the Horns, which Texas will have to do once SEC play kicks off.

So, the Longhorns actually have all 105 players available in Week 1. Feels almost impossible, right? Let's cherish that fact while we can.

Texas State Bobcats injury report

What may be even more shocking is the fact that the Bobcats also have a completely blank injury report, with all 105 players available for Texas State head coach GJ Kinne.

Both teams are at full strength, and that is exactly what you want to hear to start the season. These two teams haven't met in nearly 100 years, with the last matchup happening in 1930.

Unfortunately, just hours before the two teams kicked off, reports started coming out of San Marcos that Texas state wide receiver Zechariah Sample was "OUT" for Week 1.

Yes, Texas is heavily favored, but this should be the perfect showdown for the Horns to plant their feet in the 2026 season and take off running through the rest of the year.

It's time for college football; it's time for Texas football; it's time for the Horns to take over the world. The Longhorns and the Bobcats are scheduled to kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Sept. 5, and the game will be aired on ESPN.
