Texas women's basketball was supposed to have its final conference bye of the season. However, due to the winter weather in the southern United States, the SEC moved the game against Arkansas to last night. Luckily, both teams had the same bye, so it made it easier to make up the game. Texas came to play as they easily beat the Razorbacks 93-62 to continue their dominance in the SEC.
I'm trying not to get too hyped about the win yesterday because the Razorbacks are in last place in the SEC standings. The Longhorns still have things to work on after their close win on the road against Tennessee.
However, you have to give credit to the Longhorns for showing up and putting the Razorbacks out of their misery by halftime. Here are the four takeaways from today's beatdown in Fayetteville last night.

1. Heck of a start by the Longhorns
Even though Arkansas is at the bottom of the SEC in Women's Basketball this season, Texas did a good job of jumping out to an early lead. The Longhorns took a 12-3 lead over the Razorbacks to begin the game. This was the type of start Texas needed after having some rough starts in the last couple of games. I'm glad to see them reverting to this version of themselves. If the Longhorns return to this style of defense to begin games, watch out, SEC.
2. Madison Booker was consistent tonight
I was happy to see that Booker was back to her normal self yesterday. She had a couple of rough games where she missed a lot of shots. If Texas wants to have a nice, deep postseason run coming up shortly, Booker has to be smart with the basketball and not waste possessions. She did a good job of taking smarter shots against Arkansas.

3. Teams are starting to crack down on Rori Harmon
It might just be because she's one of the first players opposing teams mention in their scouting reports, but teams are figuring out Rori Harmon. Arkansas did a good job of shutting her down on offense last night.
I'm not saying it's an urgent thing to fix, but Vic Schaefer needs to change how they use her on offense. It might allow her to score some more points and take the burden off Booker and other players. Just something I saw over the last couple of games.

4. Aaliyah Crump finding her rhythm in the second half
Crump was struggling in the first half, struggling to find her shot. Once the Razorbacks got tired, she took advantage and found it. Crump is a player the Longhorns will need when they get to the SEC Tournament. There will be teams in the tournament that will lock down Harmon and Booker. It was good seeing her hit some shots late in the game to keep the Razorbacks grounded.
The Longhorns return to Austin take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon.
