Last year, the Texas women's basketball team earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. This season, the Longhorns did it again.

The Horns earned the No. 1 seed for the second straight year and will, once again, host a Regional for the first two rounds of the tournament.

Despite losing to South Carolina in the championship game of the SEC Tournament, the Longhorns can still boast a 31-3 record, with only two regular-season losses to then-No. 10 Notre Dame and then-No. 2 South Carolina.

In the Austin regional, Texas will host the No. 8 Illinois Fighting Illini and the No. 9 Creighton Bluejays as well as the No. 16 seeds William & Mary Tribe and High Point Panthers. The Longhorns will face the winner of the High Point-William & Mary game which will kick off the regional.
