It's no secret that Texas absolutely killed it in both the transfer portal and high school recruiting the past two seasons, and it looks like the Longhorns' head man finally acknowledged that he has an elite roster in Austin.

Usually, it's the outside world that hypes up Texas football, but Sark couldn't help but praise the team in a recent media session.

He told Chris Low of On3.com that:

"I would say probably for the first time I feel like we have the top-level talent across the board position by position on both sides of the ball. But, yet, we also have the depth behind it across the board."

It's incredibly nice to hear Sarkisian talk about the 2026 roster like this, as he and the rest of the coaching staff have done a lot of work to get it to where it is. Adding players like Maraad Watson, Hero Kanu, and Emmett Mosley V in the 2025 portal, and then Cam Coleman, Hollywood Smothers, Raleek Brown, Rasheem Biles, and Melvin Siani in this year's portal have drastically improved the team's prospects for the upcoming season.

The Longhorns needed to put together a strong core through the transfer portal in order to sustain success while adding and developing high school talent on the side.

Texas undoubtedly has more talent right now than they've had in a while at QB, WR, DT, DE, and LB. All of these positions are incredibly important to the success of a football team, and it's what most coaches strive to solidify every year.

Texas football has a chance to be incredibly successful in 2026, and it's ultimately because this coaching staff has absolutely killed it in player acquisition as of late.
