Trey Moore played just two seasons with the Texas Longhorns after starting his collegiate career down the road at UTSA. Those two seasons were all it took for Moore to solidify himself as an elite NFL Draft prospect, and that's exactly where he's heading.

This week, Moore and a half dozen other Horns are competing at the NFL Scouting Combine, and that comes with the usual media presence that any event with hundreds of athletes brings.

When Moore stepped up to the mic to field questions from members of the media, he shared something that will have Texas fans across the country excited about his future: he had already met with the Dallas Cowboys.

Trey Moore liked the energy of the Dallas Cowboys

Moore shared that he had a formal meeting with the Cowboys, who are based in Arlington, just a few hours up the road from the Longhorns' home in Austin. He said that he really liked the energy that the coaching staff brought to the table.

Wouldn't it be fun to have yet another former Texas star lacing up only a few hours away from the Horns' home base?

During his two seasons at Texas, Moore earned 70 total tackles (44 solo), 8.5 sacks, four pass deflections, and three forced fumbles. Even as he played alongside other defensive stars like Anthony Hill Jr., he was never overshadowed by the depth of talent in the locker room.

Moore, Hill, and the rest of the defensive linemen and linebackers are scheduled to compete in the first full day of the Combine on Thursday, Feb. 26, participating in various drills to show off their talent to NFL executives, coaches, and scouts in attendance.

While they're competing, a few other Longhorns will take the podium ahead of their day of competition, including Michael Taaffe, Jack Endries, Malik Muhammad, and Jaylon Guilbeau.
