What's next for Texas? 5 recruiting targets who could commit to the Longhorns

Steve Sarkisian and Co. have been putting together another top recruiting class in 2027, and they could be adding to it again soon.

Texas has been on a recruiting hot streak over the past two months, and that could continue over the next few months as well based on the buzz that's happening right now surrounding a handful of Longhorns targets.

Today, we're going to take a look at five players who could make their college decision soon and have at least a perceived 50% chance or higher of ending up as a Texas pledge.

5-star WR Monshun Sales

The elite wide receiver has been seemingly trending towards Texas more and more over the past couple of months, and now it feels like the Longhorns have a legitimate shot at landing him over Indiana.

The massive 6'5", 195-pound pass-catcher would be a huge get for the Longhorns in a recruiting class that is chock-full of talented players at the position. Easton Royal, the player ranked right behind him in the 2027 WR rankings, is already committed to Texas, and he's been doing everything he can to try to get Sales to commit as well.

Due to him being such a high-profile player, he could end up waiting until the last minute to make a decision.

5-star RB Landen Williams-Callis

Williams-Callis is incredibly talented and has shown the ability to torch defenses both as a runner and receiver out of the backfield for in-state Richmond-Randle High School.

Despite only being 5'7.5" tall, he's a load to bring down due to his powerful lower body and aggressive running style. He's also incredibly fast and would pair really well with Derrek Cooper in the future. Though he's been rumored to be deciding between Oregon, Texas A&M, and Texas, Williams-Callis just received two crystal balls to Texas from Steve Wiltfong and Sam Spiegelman. Two of the most "in-the-know" analysts in college football.

4-star OG Lincoln Mageo

Mageo is currently being predicted to Michigan, but it's easy to see why he could turn the recruiting world upside down and commit to Texas. He has an excellent relationship with Longhorns OL Coach Kyle Flood, and he's been to Austin 3-4 times over the past year.

Mageo heading to Michigan just feels wrong, and we're hoping that his relationship with Texas' coaching staff will play a big role in his final decision.

4-star LB Mikahi Allen

Allen could be the next New Jersey player to head to the state of Texas, and hopefully it'll be to Austin rather than College Station. Right now, it looks like he's trending to Texas A&M, but the Longhorns have always found a way to bring high-level recruits from that area of the country to The Forty Acres.

Allen would give Texas a blue-chip linebacker whom they could pair with Tyler Atkinson to be Will Muschamp's LB duo of the future.

3-star WR Aden Starling

Starling is an in-state pass-catcher who recently decommitted from Georgia, and now he's rumored to be deciding between Texas and Purdue. It wouldn't be surprising to see him land with the Boilermakers simply based on potential playing time, but Texas WR Coach Chris Jackson could see him as a legitimate developmental player in Austin.

His commitment obviously wouldn't move the needle immediately, but he could turn into something for the offense down the line.
