Yesterday, the noise around the Texas Longhorns still being in the conversation for five-star wide receiver Monshun Sales gained quite a bit of volume.
Beyond the story that was published here on Hook'Em Headlines, talking about the fact that Steve Sarkisian and the Horns continued to receive hope they still stood a chance to land Sales' commitment, the blue-chip wideout didn't exactly shut down the rumors that were cropping up with increasing frequency.
Not only did Sales repost the story about hope still remaining for the Longhorns, but he also reposted a tweet from Brock Williams, telling Longhorn Nation to let Sales know where he belonged.
"Longhorn family, go let [Monshun Sales] know where home is at," Williams wrote on X, including three Hook'Em emojis at the end.

Sales reposted it, fueling rumors that the Horns were keeping pace with the other teams considered to be at the lead of the pack to earn Sales' commitment.
Steve Sarkisian has Texas next to Indiana, Alabama, OSU for Monshun Sales
The Indiana Hoosiers, who are Sales' in-state team, the Alabama Crimson Tide, and the Ohio State Buckeyes have been heavily considered as the frontrunners in the blue-chip prospect's recruitment process.
However, the Horns have never backed down, continuing to push to keep themselves in the conversation. Now, that push has started to look like it's paying off for Sarkisian and Texas.
Do Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns still stand a surprise chance to land five-star wideout Monshun Sales??https://t.co/LoGh61rduY pic.twitter.com/DJaXmXmX40

Sales is the No. 2 wide receiver in the class of 2027, only trailing Easton Royal, the five-star wideout who is already committed to the Longhorns. Bringing both elite receivers to the 40 Acres would be massive for Texas.
What could make Sales' possible commitment to Texas even better would be if Royal flipped his commitment, like he has been continuously rumored to be on the brink of doing.
Yes, Royal is the No. 1 wide receiver in the recruiting cycle, but it is the narrowest of margins separating him from Sales. At 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds, Royal is slightly undersized, but on the brink of having the build of a collegiate wideout.
Meanwhile, Sales stands at 6-foot-5 and 201 pounds, an absolutely towering frame for a wide receiver at any level, much less an athlete with another season of high school football still on the horizon.
Other than reposting content about the Longhorns remaining in the mix, Sales has taken to social media to hint at the fact that his commitment could be coming sooner rather than later.

Sales is one of the final uncommitted five-star prospects in the class of 2027 and could become the fourth five-star recruit to commit to Texas if he chose the Horns over the Tide, the Hoosiers, and the Buckeyes.
He would join Royal, five-star interior offensive lineman Ismael Camara, and five-star cornerback John Meredith III, who are all already committed to Texas.
Sarkisian's class of 2027 ranks fifth in the nation currently, and second in the SEC, trailing the Texas A&M Aggies, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Oregon Ducks, and Miami Hurricanes. If the Longhorns could land Sales' commitment, that ranking would undeniably climb the totem pole.
Additionally, the Horns are in the mix to land five-star running back Landen Williams-Callis, who is reportedly making his decision between Texas and none other than Texas A&M. Simply put, Sarkisian has the Longhorns right where they want to be, and they continue to head in an even better direction this offseason.
