In terms of positional needs for the 2020 Texas football recruiting class, wide receiver doesn’t stick out. The receiving corps got such a big boost from the 2018 and 2019 recruiting classes that the depth will be strong here for the next few years. Texas clearly has one of the best wide receiver hauls in the nation for the 2019 cycle.

Just a month after National Signing Day 2019, Texas has already offered nine wideouts and three tight ends for its 2020 class. One of those nine wideouts the Horns offered that could trend more in the direction of the Forty Acres soon is four-star Booker T. Washington and Tulsa, OK, standout Javian Hester.

This looks to be a recruitment where the Horns will have to duke it out with head coach Lincoln Riley and the Oklahoma Sooners for Hester’s commitment. The 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions favor Oklahoma to land the pledge of Hester. That would be a good get for the Sooners since Hester is rated as the second best 2020 high school prospect out of the state of Oklahoma.

The offer from the Horns was received by Hester on Feb. 16. He now holds more than 15 offers and could continue to draw more nationwide interest. Some of his other notable offers include the Georgia Bulldogs, Michigan Wolverines, Nebraska Cornhuskers, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. This is definitely a prospect worth pursuing for the Horns.
