It’s hard to believe that the rising 2020 four-star Duncanville safety Chris Thompson Jr. is getting more attention from Texas football fans on the recruiting trail at this moment. Between the two aforementioned safeties on this list, Thompson Jr. and Alford hold a jaw-dropping 73 offers. If Texas could land either of the two, it would be a big win on the recruiting trail.

According to a report from 247Sports, Thompson Jr. was one of a handful of prospects on campus for the Horns for the first full practice in pads for spring camp on Friday. And, Thompson Jr. was the most highly touted 2020 defensive back of all the prospects that were on the Forty Acres this past weekend.

Moreover, last week in general saw the Horns host one of the nation’s top 2020 high school prospects with five-star cornerback Kelee Ringo. That’s an elite pair of defensive back prospects for the Horns to host in Austin this weekend. It was also the first time in nearly a full calendar year that Texas hosted Thompson Jr. on the Forty Acres.

As the No. 61 2020 high school prospect and the No. 3 safety, Thompson Jr. is a potentially elite prospect that Texas needs to make a priority. Thompson Jr. also ranks as a top 10 prospect out of the state of Texas, which should command a ton of respect. The 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions give Thompson Jr. a 67 percent chance of landing with Texas.
