The finalist announcement for the rising four-star Hebron High School and Carrollton, TX, safety Darius Snow came more than a month back. That list from Snow did include Texas football among the 13 finalists. Some of the other significant schools on his list included the Oklahoma Sooners, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Texas A&M Aggies.

Although Snow is rated outside the nation’s top 200 2020 high school prospects, he’s getting the attention of a top 100 in terms of offers and the prestige of the programs among his finalists. His top 13 is littered with blue bloods, even outside of the Horns.

The 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions do favor one of the other finalists for Snow, the Michigan State Spartans. Head coach Mark Dantonio seems to hold a slight edge over head Texas football coach Tom Herman at the moment. Texas is slightly behind Michigan State in the Crystal Ball Predictions.

Yet, the significance of landing Snow stems beyond his recruiting ranking or the level of programs pursuing him. That sort of shiny object syndrome to land a safety like Snow just because he has nearly 30 schools on his offer sheet doesn’t seem to apply to Herman and the Horns usually. Getting a quality 6-foot-1 and nearly 220 pound on the Forty Acres is the biggest factor here.
