Texas Football: 10 biggest August Longhorns recruiting storylines
2. Does Texas get Bijan Robinson?
I already touched on the potential that Bijan Robinson brings to the table for the 2020 Texas football recruiting class. But the real question here is what it will take for Texas to lock down on his commitment after he seemingly rid the Ohio State Buckeyes from his final decision.
Robinson is the best running back left on the board for the 2020 recruiting class. He ranks as the No. 3 2020 high school running back in the nation and the No. 20 prospect overall. The only 2020 recruit out of the state of Arizona that ranks higher than him is Kelee Ringo.
However, with Ohio State out of the mix to nab Robinson Texas might be the front runner. The 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions do now favor Texas over Ohio State to get a pledge from Robinson. The USC Trojans and UCLA Bruins are challengers worth watching in the coming days before Robinson announces his decision.
With Jaden Hulaby as the only 2020 running back commit thus far, Texas needs to add a big time talent at the position. Texas had to move the former five-star Cuero wide receiver signee Jordan Whittington to running back in spring camp this offseason just to have another option behind Keaontay Ingram. That needs to change for 2020.
