3) Problematic Pokes for Texas football: Tylan Wallace

There was a clear three-headed monster at the skill positions for Oklahoma State coming into this season. But there’s a lot of wide receivers on this offense that are bona fide weapons that the Longhorns need to be concerned about. While the most notable of the wide receivers for the Pokes and offensive coordinator Kasey Dunn is the junior star Tylan Wallace, there’s others that could be problematic too.

Beyond Wallace is the likes of redshirt senior Dillon Stoner, former walk-on Landon Wolf, junior Braydon Johnson, and sizable tight end Jelani Woods. Wallace is the leading receiver for the Pokes this season. He’s registered 24 catches for 396 receiving yards (16.5 yards per catch), good for two touchdown catches.

In his four years playing for Oklahoma State to date, Wallace registered more than 2,900 receiving yards (17.1 yards per catch) and 23 total touchdowns. He’s one of the best that the Longhorns will face at any point this season at any skill position. Wallace has also really gashed the Longhorns before. In his career against Texas, he’s registered more than 300 receiving yards and two touchdowns in just two outings.

Wallace usually doesn’t make many mistakes. He’s surprisingly posted two drops already this season, but that came on more than 35 targets. He mostly gobbles up everything thrown his way. Wallace is also usually one of the best run blockers of any wide receiver in the Big 12. There’s a lot of ways that Wallace could gash the Longhorns this weekend.
