3) Predicting next 2021 Texas football commit

One of the more highly touted uncommitted high school prospects at the offensive tackle position that remains for this recruiting cycle, ahead of National Signing Day, hails out of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. A key point of emphasis for Herman and offensive line coach/co-offensive coordinator Herb Hand of late, in the DFW Metroplex, was not something they hit on in the trenches in their 2021 class.

Texas missed out on the likes of the Brockermeyer brothers and four-star Duncanville offensive tackle (committed and signed with the Sooners on Dec. 16) Savion Byrd just in the Metroplex alone for this cycle. They could make up for that in some fashion if they’re able to win over a commitment and signed National Letter of Intent in the next couple of months from the underrated four-star Parish Episcopal School offensive tackle Austin Uke.

This rising 6-foot-4 and 265 pound offensive line product hailing out of Dallas, TX, was one of the more recent offers sent out by the Longhorns, specifically on Dec. 11. Texas is the latest offer to come Uke’s way.

There are 20 other schools, outside of Texas, on Uke’s impressive offer sheet. The other highlighting schools on his offer sheet includes the Florida State Seminoles, Penn State Nittany Lions, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Houston Cougars, SMU Mustangs, USC Trojans, Vanderbilt Commodores, Northwestern Wildcats, Stanford Cardinal, and TCU Horned Frogs.

Moreover, Uke ranks as the nation’s No. 574 2021 high school prospect, No. 47 offensive tackle, and No. 82 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). But the Top247 ranks him as the No. 35 offensive tackle and No. 49 prospect out of Texas.

In all likelihood, Uke will give his commitment to SMU over Texas and the rest of the field. But this is still a very winnable commitment for Hand and the Longhorns.
