It wasn’t all that long ago that the Longhorns did get a very notable loss along their defensive line in senior defensive end and former underrated three-star recruit Marqez Bimage. Bimage was one of the more experienced defensive linemen set to return for the Longhorns in 2021, but he put his name in the transfer portal back on March 4.

Since it hasn’t been all that long that Bimage was in the transfer portal, especially compared to the likes of Tyler, finding his next landing spot should come in due time. Bimage is a very appealing transfer prospect that could make an immediate impact depending on his next landing spot.

Former Texas defensive coordinator Todd Orlando seemingly knew how to use Bimage’s pass-rushing abilities better than the likes of last year’s defensive coordinator/safeties coach Chris Ash. Bimage registered 10 combined tackles, two tackles for loss, and one sack in bits and pieces of seven games played during his junior campaign in 2019. But he didn’t get any significant snaps last fall.

The lack of overall playing time always looked to hamper Bimage on the Forty Acres. He has a lot of potential at his next landing spot and should have at least a few suitors at this point in time.

Coming out of Brenham, TX, during the 2017 cycle, Bimage ranked as the nation’s No. 514 high school prospect, No. 34 weak-side defensive end, and No. 70 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). Watch out for him to find a spot to commit to before too long this offseason.
