Devon Campbell, OT

Throughout the rest of this recruiting cycle, the Longhorns will have a lot of emphases put on the pursuit of the elite five-star Bowie 6-foot-3 and 310 pound offensive tackle (also could play offensive guard at the next level) Devon Campbell.  This Arlington, TX, native could help solve a lot of the woes that the Longhorns found with various big-time recruiting misses in the trenches in their 2021 class.

There’s not much better that Sark, new offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood, and the Longhorns could do to make up for lost time in their 2022 class in the trenches than by landing a commitment from Campbell. He’s one of the best and most potent, offensive line prospects for this entire recruiting cycle.

Texas doesn’t have any commits that play along the offensive line in their 2022 class as of yet. A great way to start would be with the talented Campbell. But it is worth watching to see if Campbell does wind up scheduling an official visit with the Longhorns for the summer. He doesn’t have one yet officially in line with Texas.

Yet, Campbell does have visits in line with the USC Trojans (June 4) and Oklahoma Sooners (June 25). It might not be too long before the likes of the Longhorns and LSU Tigers get visits scheduled this offseason with Campbell.

Texas, LSU, USC, and Oklahoma form a quad of nearly 30 schools that have offered Campbell thus far. Some of the other notable schools on his offer sheet are the Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Oregon Ducks, and Tennessee Volunteers.

The top-ranked offensive linemen out of the state of Texas should be someone that the Longhorns throw everything at this offseason to keep his interests on coming to the Forty Acres.
