Texas Football: 4 top 2023 QB’s to target behind Arch Manning
Bo Edmundson, QB
If Texas wants to go after the prospect out of their own backyard in the 2023 recruiting cycle, then look no further than the emerging three-star Lake Travis quarterback Bo Edmundson. This would be an easy way to go to establish some backup options on the quarterback big board for Sark and the Longhorns behind Manning.
There are already some high-profile scholarship offers that Edmundson has rolling in. But as is usually the case with an Austin, TX, native and a product of either Lake Travis or Westlake High School, an offer from the Longhorns is extremely impactful. That could immediately vault Texas among the frontrunners for Edmundson if they jumped in at the right time.
In the month of June alone, Edmundson attended camps with the likes of the Oklahoma State Cowboys, LSU Tigers, and Penn State Nittany Lions. And he already has scholarship offers from two of those three schools, Oklahoma State and Penn State.
Some of the other notable schools of the nine on his offer sheet includes the Kentucky Wildcats, Michigan State Spartans, Purdue Boilermakers, SMU Mustangs, and Utah Utes.
Edmundson saw his stock rise after a successful 7-on-7 season this summer. He recently appeared in the Texas 7-on-7 State Championships, showing good touch and arm strength in the process. But it will be the 2021 high school football season that could really see Edmundson rack up the offers and vault up the recruiting rankings.
The Top247 currently ranks him as the No. 25 quarterback and No. 50 prospect out of Texas. The 6-foot-2 and 195-pound Edmundson is a prospect with a rising profile that is about to hit the national spotlight if he has a good junior campaign at Lake Travis.
