Another one of the top targets of the Longhorns 2022 class out of the DFW Metroplex that looks to be in attendance for Red River this weekend is the elite five-star Frisco-Liberty wide receiver Evan Stewart. This Frisco, TX, native is also just one of the top remaining prospects on the board for the Longhorns 2022 class ahead of the Early Signing Period.

This is one of two straight weekends where Texas has a huge opportunity to impress Stewart. With so much going on for Stewart recently, it is also a critical time for Texas to try and take the lead in his recruitment over the likes of the Florida Gators, Alabama Crimson Tide, and LSU Tigers.

Stewart has stayed in the thick of the headlines in the past couple of months. Between getting visits on the books, moving up in the recruiting rankings, and deciding to opt out of the rest of his senior season at Liberty High School, Stewart was a polarizing figure of late.

Moreover, Texas is set to host Stewart for visits during game weekends two weeks in a row. This weekend will see Stewart get to visit for the Oklahoma game. And then, Texas will host Stewart in Austin for the Oct. 16 meeting with head coach Mike Gundy and the No. 12 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys.

Texas should be putting the full-court press on the likes of Campbell and Stewart for the next two weekends. Getting these two in the 2022 class, potentially along with five-star North Shore cornerback Denver Harris, would literally be the perfect way to round out this recruiting cycle.
